Making sense of the misunderstood, engaging the youth of today to create awareness.
Hepatitis C is a complex infectious disease often misunderstood by our youth. Collaborating with 9mm, mi9
and Mediacom in Sydney we had the challenge of connecting with young people to create awareness around the
risks of Hepatitis C.
What we created was an Australian first for NSW Health - an online fictional house party that users engaged
with through a first person interactive video story. The ‘House Party’ was served through multiple
online destinations where people could invite friends and make choices throughout the party. Each choice and
its resulting consequences drilled home the message that poor decisions can easily expose you to the dangers
of Hepatitis C. The campaign resulted in a 60 % increase in understanding of Hepatitis C as a serious and
dangerous illness amongst the audience.
